Eli has had one of his best days yet with two blood gas oxygen scores above 100. His last two scores were a little lower and so we hope he reverses and goes back up to 100, but we were really happy about how he did today. He continues to look better each day even though his swelling is still quite an issue. The PPHN seems to be in remission for now and the doctors plan to wean him every so slowly from some of his meds as anything drastic could set him back again. We're praying that his improvements are not temporary. I took a picture today of just some of his drips. You can see here 9 of them. Two for narcotics, four blood pressure medicines (the one on the right is only used every 8 hours), lipids (for weight gain) and then fluids and other nutrients. He also gets viagra every 6 hours by a tube that goes down into his intestine, and he gets an occasional blood transfusion. He has developed quite the sores on his bottom where the stool has literally eaten away the skin and it has scabbed over. The nurses use a ton of diaper cream to try to help, but I can't help but wince whenever I see the sores. Overall though he is doing a lot better than last week.
Noah is about to graduate from the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). As long as he maintains his temperature over the night they will probably let him come home tomorrow evening. He is schedule to get circumsized in the morning (poor guy), and once they know the bleeding has stopped they'll get him ready to come home. As part of the preparation we had to do care seat testing where we made sure he could still breathe while sitting in his car seat for 30 minutes. I took a picture and you can see how small the guy really is. Sometimes its hard to tell in the pictures. Eli was born smaller than Noah if you can believe it. Noah's weight today was 5 lbs 13 oz (3 oz more than his birth weight).
We ask all to continue to pray for little Eli that he will get better as well as for Amanda's mom who is still in the hospital here at UK.

Hooray for Noah coming home!!!! Maybe this will be the right motivation for Eli to start kicking it in gear!

Noah looks SOOO cute in that HUGE carseat!!! He actually looks totally indifferent to where he is, as long as he is bundled and allowed to sleep I am sure he could care less! Anyways...we are hoping and praying that today is another good day for everyone...Amanda's mom included! We had so much fun seeing you guys! Thanks so much! Best of luck today!

Wow, that is a lot of drips! I'm really glad to hear the boys both had good days. We pray things stay that way and both boys will be home with you two soon! :)
