Gettin' lucky in Kentucky

We took a last minute trip to Ketucky for the week of New Years. We were planning a trip for sometime in either late January or February, but Deb got a new job back in Washington so we had to plan it sooner. We drove out the Saturday after Christmas and stayed for a week. After getting there we found out that Aaron's sister Katie and her daughter Josie would be coming that week as well. It was really fun seeing them, especially seeing Sarah and Josie together since the are just 20 days apart.

We had a pretty laid back week. We played lots of games, celebrated the New Year, got pictures taken of all the grandkids, went to see Frozen for the second time, and took the kids to Monkey Joe's. The kids were all so happy to be back at Grandma and Grandpa's house. It felt so normal being at their house; it was just like being at home.

I had to get a picture of all the Dukes together. We spent most of our evenings around the kitchen table playing games. Here they are playing Carcassonne.

Katie and I went out one day to get some games for us all to play that week. We ended up at Toys r Us but they didn't have very many options. I grabbed Munchkin because it sounded kind of funny; we all had so much fun playing it that Aaron went out and got a couple of the expansion packs. It's a silly card game that involves killing monsters and sabotaging the other players. It's quite humorous.

Just some pictures from New Years Eve. Ginny and her kids came by for a bit; I tried my best to get one of all the kids without much success! Deb and Katie played a prank on the kids and had Pat dress up in a ghillie suit and put lights on him like a Christmas tree. Pat scared them pretty good when he jumped at them.
