Massanutten and a tooth

We had such a fun trip these past couple of days. A couple months back I was at the mall and was sold on a trip to Massanutten Resort. They were offering a 3 day and 2 night stay at the resort in one of their condos as long as you agreed to listen to their time share sales pitch. I took them up on the offer and we had a blast (though it did start out a bit rough).

We checked in on Sunday around 5 and basically just hung out playing games and watching TV. As we were getting the kids ready for bed we noticed the water was super loud when we flushed the toilet. While I was helping Sarah wash her hands Aaron and the boys were commenting on the pipes rattling in the walls. I was rinsing Sarah's hands and the water pressure dropped and then a loud siren/bell started going off. We called the front desk and had to leave the room (at 9 or so at night and in the pouring rain). Security finally showed up and went into the unit next to us. Apparently they went to take a shower and the shower head flew off and water was pouring out everywhere. They shut the water off which also affected our unit. So we had to wait to be moved. We had to pack all our stuff back up including all our food and move to another room on the huge resort. We got lost a couple of times while driving in the rain and dark and finally made it to our room after 10pm. We had to be at the tour/sales pitch the next morning at 8am. The kids were definitely tired the next morning.

After the tour we went to the water park with 2 free tickets to make up for our late night ordeal. The kids had so much fun at the indoor water park. They could have gone down the slides 1000 times if we let them. I got Sarah to go down one of the big slides once and that was it. I pretty much had to shove her down and she flipped around going down the slide. Aaron side she was coming down on all fours face first when she got to the bottom so she hit the water with her face. She recovered quickly though! Eli also had an incident when Aaron was taking them down the tube slides. He didn't realize that one of the slides was a pitch black slide. Aaron and Noah went down the green slide and Eli went down by himself on an inner tube in the pitch black slide. Aaron and Noah made it down without a hitch and waited for Eli. It was taking awhile and the life guard made Aaron get out since they weren't supposed to wait. He told her to watch for him and sure enough Eli came out flipped off of the inner tube and clinging to the side of it. He went under the water and she reached down and pulled him out. He refers to it as the time he almost drowned.

I was super proud of Eli though when he was brave enough to go on the wake boarding simulator thing. Even after falling off and getting tossed around he got back on and tried again. Even more impressive was Aaron. He did the best of anyone I saw while watching. There is an instructor in the front telling you what moves to do and Aaron did all of them. He got up on his knees, threw the board and then caught it again, even rolled through the water and got back on the board. The instructor finally knocked him off with a crazy rolling and riding on your back maneuver. All the spectators were yelling and clapping when he finally fell off.

We packed up and heading home this morning. It's only a 2 hour drive and takes you through some very pretty parts of Virginia and through the mountains. Just a little bit ago Mr. Eli noticed his wiggly tooth was loose enough to pull out. I cringed as he wiggled and twisted and then pop it was out. It fell out and we almost lost it on the ground. We all were on our hands and knees searching for his first lost tooth. He's so excited for the tooth fairy to come tonight. It seems like such a milestone that we have reached the age of loosing teeth!

And on top of our fun little getaway we found out that one of the partners at Aaron's work is renewing his vows at Disney World and flying everyone and their families down and paying for us to stay at a hotel resort at Disney. We are super excited for another adventure!
