Submarine museum
We've definitely gotten a little stir crazy being stuck in the house. If it's a nice day outside, you better believe you'll find us doing something outside. Unfortunately, despite warmer weather this weekend, it was rainy all weekend (and today it's been snowing all morning!). Our time here in Connecticut is quickly approaching it's end so we need to explore as much as we can. We decided on the submarine museum which was actually really neat.
On the drive out we stopped in Old Seybrook, which is an adorable little town on the water, for some delicious pizza. We are definitely going to miss New England style pizza when we leave!
The submarine museum is located in Groton at the Naval Submarine Base New London. It is free which is always a plus! First things first, we went inside and toured the USS Nautilus, the first nuclear powered submarine. After that we explored the museum, which included a control room the kids could play with.
On the way home we stopped at the outlet mall so we could go to Fuzziwigs Candy Factory. It wasn't so much a factory as a store, but the kids loved picking out their own candy. It was a fun Saturday with the family. I just hope the weather finally warms up so we can do some more exploring outside.
