Christmas at the Galt House Hotel

Yesterday Deb and I took the kids to the Galt House Hotel to check out all the Christmas festivities. The Galt House is in Louisville, and since we were taking Aaron to the airport we decided to check it out. It was really busy and a little disorganized at first. There were 2 big long lines right next to each other, one to get tickets and one to see Santa. It was sort of a mess and very chaotic with 2 huge long lines crammed into one small hallway, but once we saw Santa and got our tickets things calmed down a bit.

So far this year Sarah has not been a fan of Santa!

We went into the Kalightascope room to see the pretty blow ups and lights. It was actually really pretty and Sarah and the boys loved looking at everything. My favorite part was at the very end there was a whole Nativity scene with a live angel. It was really pretty.

After that we headed inside to check out everything else. There was a gingerbread room complete with a giant gingerbread house made out of real gingerbread cookies, frosting, and candy. That was cool. There was a place to write letters to Santa and a little miniature town as well as Candy Cane Forest. Sarah loved Candy Cane Forest. They all got to ride on a train and there were different scenes of elves and forest animals making candy canes and cider and dancing. The little animals and elves were animatronic, and Sarah just loved them.

They chose Nice. They wrote their names all by themselves. Eli needed a little help remember where to put each letter.

Overall it was fun, but like I said, a little chaotic and disorganized. We are glad we went, but I don't think we'll be doing it again. As for Aaron, he's in Salt Lake City right now for an interview tomorrow. He's interviewing for internships next year, and we will find out if he matches on February 22nd (Sarah's birthday). He will be gone all week starting with an interview in Provo, then flying to California for an interview in LA, and then ending in New York for an interview at NYU. He will continue interviews through January. I believe he has around 7 so far, and he's applied to 20 different sites. Wish us luck!
