Chicago - part 2

Saturday was our last full day in Chicago. Aaron woke up and headed down to the conference for a couple of sessions of the conference. His favorite one that he attended was by Jonathon Haidt. If you click on his name it will bring you to his Wikipedia page for some more information on his research. He also has written a book called The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion. If you know my husband at all, there is probably no surprise that this was his favorite session of the conference.

After the conference we started walking towards the Sear's Tower, which has actually been renamed the Willis Tower. On the way we stopped at Giordano's, a pizza place that my friend Melanie suggested. We had to wait about 25 minutes for a seat and even longer for the pizza but it was so worth it. It was so cheesy and delicious!

We were not impressed with the Sear's Tower. We got in pretty quick and they took us up 1 floor where we waited in the longest line in the world. We seriously waited almost 2 hours. I'm not sure if is always this busy or if it was just because it was Memorial Day weekend but it was crazy. We were surrounded by a foreign family with bad BO and Sarah got pretty ornery by the end. Once we actually got up to the viewing deck it was so crowded that we didn't stay long. Aaron had to stand on the glass ledge and then we left. It was so busy that they took us down on the freight elevator.

 

 

Our feet were pretty tired after standing in that ridiculous line at the Sear's Tower but we still had to walk all the way back to our hotel. We stopped and got some Jamba Juice on the way back and the lady put the leftovers from mine into a small cup for Sarah. Sarah was definitely happy about it and was making a mess with it trying to drink it herself. We had to stop at Millennium Park to help her drink it.

 Since we were there we had to stop and look at the giant, amorphous blob and take a picture in its reflection.

 It started to get cold and super windy. It was difficult to walk since we were walking against the wind. No wonder they call it the Windy City :)
